Event Overview
The Essex AA and Suffolk AA County Road Relays for 2026 will be held at the Northern Gateway in Colchester. The event is a collaboration between the two county athletics associations. It includes various age category relay races and a separate Under 11 road race.
Race Categories and Format
The event features team relay races across multiple categories. The listed categories are:

- V40, V50, and V60 categories for Women and Men
All relay categories consist of teams of three, except for the senior Open Men's category, which is a team of four. An Under 11 2k road race, the Colchester Harriers Essex Under 11 2k Road Race, is held before the relays. The event uses chip timing for results.
Entry and Participation Details
Entries are managed by team captains. The price per team is £30 for most categories and £40 for the Open Men's team. For a team to be eligible for the Essex county championships, all its members must be registered with England Athletics (EA). Team captains must submit a list of potential runners, including their EA numbers and dates of birth, before the race for qualification checks. Final team confirmations and running orders must be submitted via a provided link within 48 hours after the event. The closing date for Essex entries is 23:59 on Sunday 15th March 2026.
