Essex 20
The Essex 20 is held annually in March. The event is a 20 mile road race run over a five-lap course at Debden Airfield, Carver Barracks, Wimbish, Saffron Walden CB10 2YA.
The course uses the disused airfield perimeter and is described as fast and flat on tarmac with no sharp corners. Surrounding tree cover often creates relatively still wind conditions on most days. The event incorporates the Inter-counties 20 mile road race championships and also hosts the Essex County Road Running Championships; entry for the county championships is managed separately.
The event organiser is Active Training World (ATW), established in 2011 and operating nationally in the UK. ATW stages a range of endurance events and records over 40,000 entries a year. The published entry price for this race is £42.00.
ATW does not offer refunds or transfers to another person. Entrants may transfer their entry to any future ATW event, with transfers permitted up to 48 hours before the original event and no proof required.
