Essex 20 - Essex County Road Running Championships

Essex 20 is the county 20 mile road running championship held annually in March. The booking page covers entry to the Inter counties 20 mile road race championships; a separate entry route is available for runners not eligible for the county event.

The 2026 venue is Debden Airfield, a disused airfield laid out as a five lap course. The route is on tarmac, described as flat with no sharp corners, and surrounding tree cover often results in relatively still wind conditions.

Entry to the County Championship requires an England Athletics Affiliation number that is paid for the current affiliation year and the name of the runner's England Athletics affiliated club. Entries missing these details are not accepted for the County Championship. A password is required to book into the County Championship and is provided by the runner's club or the Essex road race secretary.
