Essex 20
The Essex 20 is held annually in March as a 20 mile road race on a five lap course at Debden Airfield, Carver Barracks, Wimbish, Saffron Walden. The course uses the disused airfield surface and is described as fast and flat with tarmac underfoot and no sharp corners. Surrounding tree cover often reduces wind on most days.
The event forms part of the competitive calendar by incorporating the Inter counties 20 mile road race championships and also plays host to the Essex County Road Running Championships. Entrants who are eligible for the Essex County Championships should not enter via the main Essex 20 entry page because a separate county champs entry will be available.
Charitable fundraising for Alzheimer's Research UK is linked to the event and opportunities to donate or fundraise are presented at checkout. Entry pricing information lists a fee of £37 for the standard offer. Ample parking is available at the venue for a £3 parking fee.
The organiser is Active Training World. The organiser’s entry policy states there are no refunds and no transfers to another person, but entries can be transferred to any future ATW event up to 48 hours before the original event date without proof.
