Location and course

The race takes place at Debden Airfield, Carver Barracks, Wimbish, Saffron Walden CB10 2YA. The course is a 5-lap loop on a disused airfield with tarmac surfaces, described as flat with no sharp corners. Surrounding tree cover is noted as reducing wind on most days.

A password is required to book the county champs and can be obtained from the runner’s club or the Essex road race secretary. The county champs entry is shown at £22. General Essex 20 entry is shown at approximately £34 to £36. The event is open to entrants aged 18 and over on 15 March 2026.

Ample parking is available at the venue for a £3 parking fee. The organiser states there are no refunds or transfers to another person, but entries may be transferred to a future ATW event up to 48 hours before the event date.
