Espresso Mile p/b Chain & Spoke : Des Moines, IA
The Espresso Mile is a one-mile race and walk held on May 31, 2026 in Des Moines. The event takes place in conjunction with the Rip the Aves bike races that run throughout the day. The listed entry fee is $10 and registration opens on December 31, 2025 and closes on January 26, 2026.
Packet pickup is scheduled on the days before the event at Fleet Feet Des Moines and at Chain & Spoke, with additional packet pickup on race day at 31st and Ingersoll. Packet collection is also noted near the corner of 28th and Ingersoll, a short walk from the start location on High Street.
The course begins on High Street, descends toward 24th Street, makes two right turns onto Ingersoll Avenue and continues along a long flat straight. The route then turns right to climb 28th Street hill, returns downhill on High Street, and finishes with two right turns followed by a final sprint to the line.
Prizes are listed for the top three men and women with amounts of $200, $100, and $50 respectively. There is an event record bonus of $200; the men's record time is 4:22 and the women's record time is 5:36. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
