Escape the Elves 5K
Escape the Elves 5K is a holiday-themed running event in Oakwood, Georgia, hosted by the South Hall Rotary and based at the Oakwood Community Center. The event program includes a USATF certified 5K, a 1K Fun Run geared toward families and children, and a virtual runner option that includes a t-shirt.

Packet pick-up is offered on December 11 at 5512 Main St, Flowery Branch, and on December 12 at the Oakwood Community Center. A post-race breakfast called Pancakes with Buddy is held at the community center; breakfast plates are available for $10 and to-go meals are offered. There is also a Best Dressed Award for festive outfits and an awards presentation at the park.
Registration opens September 30; registration deadlines differ by event. Race t-shirts are guaranteed only for registrations completed by December 5. Participants are invited to bring canned food items for the South Hall Food Pantry.
Proceeds support the South Hall Food Pantry, Lanier Tech’s Adult Education Scholarships, Hall is Home for Kids, Shelterbox, Alzheimer's research through Rotary’s CART Fund, and the South Hall Rotary S.H.A.R.E. Fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
