Escape the Cape Triathlon : Lower Township, New Jersey
The Escape the Cape Triathlon takes place on June 7, 2026 in Lower Township, New Jersey. The event includes an open water swim that begins from a vessel at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry and features a 12 ft jump into the Delaware Bay. The swim course boards athletes from the ferry, stops at the 1 mile mark for Olympic distance entries and the 0.35 mile mark for Sprint entries, and finishes on the beach near the Douglas Park Jetty.

The bike course uses closed roads through vineyards and back country roads in Cape May. The run course includes sandy sections. Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a long sleeve tech competitor shirt, real time race results, live tracking via the DelMo Elite Events mobile app, and a post race athlete breakfast buffet. The race is USA Triathlon sanctioned. Athlete check-in is mandatory the day before the event and packets include a bib, swim cap, timing chip, sticker sheet, and a wristband for transition access.
