Escape the Cape Triathlon
The 14th Annual Stampone O'Brien Dilsheimer Holloway Escape the Cape Triathlon takes place in Lower Township, New Jersey, at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry and is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. The race features a 12-foot ferry boat jump start from the vessel into the Delaware Bay and concludes with a finish on the beach near the Douglas Park Jetty.
Swim, bike and run courses are described in the athlete guide. The swim begins from the ferry with Olympic athletes jumping at the one mile mark and Sprint athletes jumping at the 0.35 mile mark. The bike course is on closed roads through vineyards and back country roads of Cape May. The run course includes coastal and beach sections with notable sandy stretches.
Race formats include Olympic and Sprint distances, aquabike options, relay teams, and a 1 Mile Open Water Swim. Race packet items and race-day procedures are provided at mandatory athlete check-in; packets include a race bib, silicone swim cap, MYLAPS timing chip, sticker sheet, wristband, and a participant shirt. Bib numbers are issued via dynamic bib assignment at check-in.
Event services and policies include live athlete tracking via the DelMo Elite Events app, real-time results, post-race athlete breakfast, closed and monitored race courses with lifeguards and safety personnel, and a deferral policy. To guarantee official race swag, online registration must be completed at least 45 days before race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
