The event is a multisport triathlon day held at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in Lower Township. The start uses a boat jump from the ferry, including a one of a kind 12 foot jump into open water. The 2026 program restores the Open Water Classic, a one mile swim. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon.
Registration for participants includes a custom finisher medal, a long sleeve technical competitor shirt, real time race results, live tracking via the DelMo Elite Events mobile app, and a post race athlete breakfast. The swim course begins from the ferry and finishes on the beach near Douglas Park Jetty. The bike course uses closed roads through vineyards and back country roads of Cape May. The run course crosses sand in multiple sections and the event is not wheelchair friendly.
Distances offered:
- Olympic: 1 mile swim, 23 mile bike, 5 mile run
- Olympic Aquabike: 1 mile swim, 23 mile bike
- Sprint: 0.35 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 5K run
- Sprint Aquabike: 0.35 mile swim, 12 mile bike
- Open Water Classic: 1 mile swim
- Kids Fun Run: 0.5 mile run on site registration
