Escape From Brushy Mtn. State Pen 5k
The Escape From Brushy Mtn. State Pen 5k is a running event held on August 29, 2026, at Historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, 9182 TN-116, Petros, TN 37845, USA. The primary race distance is 3.1 miles. A combined option, Escape 5k + Prison Tour, pairs the 5k with a prison tour that must be taken on the day of the race.
Registration fees follow tiered pricing: Early Bird through July 31 is $35, August 1–22 is $40, and August 23–29 is $45. A race plus tour option is listed with a $55 fee. No refunds or bib transfers are permitted. Adult shirts are unisex cotton blend; the shirt order will be placed on July 31, and participants should register by July 30 to help ensure correct sizes. Sizes may be exchanged after the race if supplies remain.
All finishers receive a medal at the finish line. Post race refreshments will be provided. The event will not count toward the 2026 Team Competition Grand Prix points. Race rules prohibit roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs on the course. The 5K course closes in 1 hour and 30 minutes and headphones are discouraged. Results will be posted on the event platform after the race.
