EOD Warrior Half

Event overview

The 2026 EOD Warrior 5k & Half takes place on June 14, 2026 in Georgetown and along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path near Washington, DC. The event offers both an in-person and a virtual option. Walkers are welcome. The race is chip timed and registered finishers receive a finisher’s medal and a technical event shirt. The event partners with the EOD Warrior Foundation, which provides financial assistance and support to active-duty and veteran EOD personnel, their families, and the EOD Memorial.

Course and logistics

• 5k - out-and-back on the C&O Canal path, light gravel, flat trail.
• Half Marathon - runs along the C&O Canal, light gravel dirt road, minimal elevation change.

The half marathon starts and finishes in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club. The 5k starts and finishes at Fletcher’s Boathouse; the two distances use separate start/finish locations along the canal path. The half has a 3:15 completion time limit. There are seven water stations on the half at approximate mile markers and one water station on the 5k; Gatorade is available at some stations. Port-a-johns are provided near the Georgetown registration area and indoor restrooms are available near Fletcher’s. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points will be posted after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes.
