Empower Walk + 5K Run : Pittsburgh
The Autism Speaks Empower Walk + 5K Run is a fundraising event on September 19, 2026, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. The event raises money for autism research, advocacy, and resources that support individuals and families across the autism spectrum. As of the event page, the campaign has raised $170.9K toward a $265,000 goal.
Participants can take part in multiple formats with different registration rules. Available options include:
- Walk, no registration fee; T-shirt for participants who raise $75 or more.
- 5K Run, standard registration $35 rising to $45 one month before the event; registered runners receive a finisher medal and bib.
- Superhero Sprint for shorter, quick dashes during the event.
The program includes a Resource Fair with community organizations, a Friendship Bracelet Station called Words of Empowerment, a Mission In Action area detailing Autism Speaks resources, and additional activities such as games, entertainment, and photo opportunities. All ages are welcome in the 5K Run, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
