Emile and Brooke Craig Memorial Run For The Kids - 5K/10K
The Emile and Brooke Craig Memorial Run For The Kids is an annual charity running and walking event held the Saturday before Memorial Day in Pearl, Mississippi. The event takes place at the Clyde Muse Center on the Hinds Community College campus and includes multiple race options and a kids' fun run.
The event benefits children served by Region 8 Mental Health in Rankin County by providing clothing and school supplies. It is organized by volunteers and sponsored by local 501c3 organizations; nearly all funds raised are used to purchase clothing and supplies. Eligibility for assistance distributed after the event is determined by a social worker screening, qualification for disability benefits, and meeting poverty level thresholds.
There will be food and drinks available for participants. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in 10-year age groups for the 5K walk, 5K run, and the 10K.
Registration includes options to fundraise: individual fundraising has a $50 minimum for a complimentary entry, and team fundraising has a $250 minimum for complimentary entries for up to five team members.
