About the EmergeOrtho 5K
The EmergeOrtho 5K serves as the end-of-season celebration event for participants in the Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole, and STRIDE programs. Boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 take part to celebrate their accomplishments from the season. Public runners are also welcome to participate.
The event is held at the UNCW Greene Track and Field Complex in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Proceeds from the race support scholarships for future participants in the Girls on the Run and STRIDE programs. The event's title sponsor has supported it for over 15 years.
Registration and Race Details
Participants can register for an in-person 5k. Registration must be completed online; on-site registration is not available. A race shirt and a finisher medal are included for general runners. Girls on the Run and STRIDE participants receive a program shirt.
Packet pickup is available before the race and on race day.
Awards
Awards are given for the top three male and female overall finishers, the top three male and female master finishers, and the top three in each of the following age groups:
- 6 and under
- 7-9
- 10-12
- 13-15
- 16-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70+
