Embrace the Pace
Embrace the Pace is a community running event held on August 22, 2026 at Liberty Playground in Independence, Ohio. The event offers multiple distances and inclusive programming organized by Connecting for Kids.

Registrations for the events open on June 15 and close on August 21. Entry fees vary by event, with the 5K and One-Mile events listed at $35, and kids' race options at $15 (with shirt) or $5 (no shirt). Packet pickup takes place at the Kiwanis Pavilion at Liberty Playground on the day before the event and on race day.
Participant benefits differ by event and may include a T-shirt, finisher medal, draw-string bag, and a chipped or non-chipped bib as specified for each race. The 5K is chip timed. Kids' Race heats include categories for children who use wheelchairs, walkers, gait trainers, reciprocating gait orthosis or other mobility aids. Dogs are permitted on site but must remain on a leash.
Event amenities and community features include an inclusive after-race dance party with free hot dogs, resource tables from partners and sponsors, a mobile sensory unit, adult changing table, and accessible parking. Registrations include a donation to the City of Independence for adapted playground equipment; remaining proceeds support Connecting for Kids programs.
