Elsey Mae Memorial Run
The Elsey Mae Memorial Run is a community memorial event held on August 22, 2026, in Beatrice, Nebraska, at Chautauqua Park near 7th Street and Grable Avenue. The event includes a short, family-focused mile and a separate 5K route that uses park paths and adjoining trails.
Distances offered:
- 1 mile Elsey Memory Mile, family-friendly run or walk.
- 5K Elsey Mae Memorial 5K, scenic course through Chautauqua Park trails.
The 1-mile option is intended for families, children, and walkers. Strollers are welcome on course, and young children may ride bikes alongside the Elsey Memory Mile. The 5K route follows park trails and is open to participants choosing to run or walk.
A memorial gathering follows the run/walk with videos and photos, a butterfly release, and food and drinks. Event proceeds go to the Elsey Mae Memorial Fund; donations will be made to the Beatrice Public Library in honor of the memorial fund.
