33 Ultra

The 33 Ultra is a multi-discipline event held in rural southeast Nebraska. Based at the Methodist churches in Ellis and Odell, the event is designed as a spiritual journey involving prayer, meditation, and reflection. The course spans a total of 33 miles, a distance chosen to honor the years Jesus spent on earth. The route consists of some paved miles and many gravel miles through the local countryside.

Participants have the choice of several distances and formats to suit their preferences:

  • 33 Ultra: A 33-mile distance available for runners, walkers, or cyclists.
  • 1/2 Marathon: A 13.1-mile distance for runners and walkers.
  • 10K: A 6.2-mile distance for runners and walkers.
  • 3.3 Miles: A shorter distance option for runners and walkers.
  • 1 Mile: A short course for runners and walkers, including youth participants.
  • Relay: Options for teams of 2-4 runners to complete the 1/2 marathon or the 33-mile Ultra.

The event includes a virtual participation option for those unable to attend in person. Registered participants receive a packet containing a t-shirt, bib numbers, maps, and a meal ticket. Following the physical portion of the event, participants and fans gather at the Odell Community Building for a meal, fellowship, and worship. The final mile of the course passes through the town of Odell, finishing at the Methodist Church and community park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
