ELP's Derby Dash
ELP's Derby Dash is a community-focused racing event held in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The event follows a Kentucky Derby theme and serves to support early literacy programs through the Early Learning Partnership of York County. The activities are centered around 110 Southern Street with a post-race reception held at Hoppin' Rock Hill.
Participants can choose from three distinct event formats:
- 5K Race: A 3.1 mile running event.
- Family Fun Run/Walk: A 1.25 mile route accommodating walkers and strollers.
- Kid's Hobby Horse Race: A dash on the green for children aged 8 and under.
The Kid's Hobby Horse Race allows children to use hobby horses for a playful dash where costumes and creativity are part of the activity. The 5K route is designed for those interested in a timed distance, while the 1.25 mile walk is intended for families and participants of all ages.
