Elm Street Athletic Festival
The Elm Street Athletic Festival is an annual multi-distance event held in Greensboro, North Carolina. Now in its fifth year, the festival features courses that traverse the city's central boulevard and surrounding neighborhoods. The event serves as a fundraiser, with a portion of the proceeds supporting a brain cancer foundation that provides assistance to local brain and spine tumor patients and healthcare providers.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances and formats:
- 10 Miles: A grand tour through the streets of Greensboro.
- 5k: A shorter running race located along a scenic route on Elm Street.
- 1 Mile: A youth-specific running event.
- 1 Mile Walk: The Brain Tumor Survivors, Healers and Heroes Walk for patients, families, and caretakers.
The festival also offers virtual options for the 10 Mile, 5k, and 1 Mile distances. Virtual participants can complete their chosen distance at any location and receive participant items by mail. The 10 mile specific race takes runners on a classic distance course through central Greensboro, while the 5k offers a downtown experience along the scenic Elm Street corridor. The event base is located at 332 S Elm St. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
