The 5K is one loop; the 10K is two loops of a shared course. Each relay team member runs one 5K loop; relay teams use one bib and one timing shoe tag and exchange at a turnaround cone inside Banneker Historical Park. The entire course is on paved road or path surfaces. Strollers, pets, in-line skates, bicycles, and other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited.
Age minimums are 7 years for the 5K and 10 years for the 10K. Packet pick up is required before the start and may be picked up on behalf of a registered runner; morning packet pick up is at the venue. Registration transfers and bib sharing are not permitted. Registration fees vary by date. Registration includes a participant shirt and a finisher medal; registering by April 9 guarantees a shirt. The race uses bib tag timing and will publish live results.
