Event overview
The Ellicott City 5K/10K is a community road race presented by Rip It Events / RIVAL Race Series and scheduled for May 2026 in Ellicott City, Maryland. The event has a race capacity of 450 participants and has sold out in recent years. Registration opens on January 2, 2026. The entry fee includes a participant t-shirt and a finisher medal; registrants who sign up by April 9 are guaranteed a shirt.

Both the 5K (one loop) and 10K (two loops) start and finish at Banneker Historical Park, 300 Oella Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228. The entire course is on paved road or path. Relay teams consist of two runners, each running 3.1 miles; teams receive one race bib and one timing shoe tag and exchange at a turnaround cone inside the park. Strollers, pets, in-line skates, bicycles, and other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited.
Logistics, timing and awards
Packet pick-up is at the venue on race morning and includes the race bib and timing chip; someone may pick up a packet on another participant’s behalf. The race uses bib-tag timing and will publish live results during the event. Awards are given to the top three overall in Male, Female and Non-Binary categories and to top three in age groups and relay categories.
