Elizabeth River Run 10K & Mile
The 47th annual Elizabeth River Run takes place Sunday, September 20, 2026, with the start and finish at the Portsmouth Pavilion in Portsmouth, Virginia. The event includes two race distances and offers online registration.

Entry fees for the 10K vary by registration period: $35 early bird until February 8, $45 until May 31, $55 until July 31, $60 until September 15, and $65 through race day. Mile fees are $15 until March 31, $20 until August 1, and $25 until race day. A no shirt option reduces the fee by $3. Race shirts are guaranteed to the first 750 registrants. Strider Club members receive a $5 discount; Striders Plus members are also eligible for discounts and must register to enter.
Elite registration can provide complimentary entry for runners with qualifying 10K times from May 2025 through September 1, 2026. Qualifying standards are Open male under 31:00, Open female under 37:00, Master male under 36:00, and Master female under 42:00.
The course is stroller friendly and includes two water stations near mile markers 2 and 4. The finish area will have water, Gatorade, and snacks. Advance packet pick-up is scheduled for September 18, 3:00–6:00 pm, and September 19, 2:00–7:00 pm; race day pickup is for out-of-town participants only.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in age groups from 19 & under through 75+, plus overall and masters awards, top walkers, a youth mile award, and a team competition scored by age graded results. Prize money for the 10K overall top three is $250, $150, and $100, and first place masters receive $100. A post-race party at the Portsmouth Pavilion will feature local craft beer, food, live music, and vendors. Photographers will be on the course. The race organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the event for safety or access reasons and do not offer refunds in that case.
