Elizabeth River Run 10K & Mile
The Elizabeth River Run is the 47th edition presented by the Tidewater Striders and the Portsmouth Children's Museum, returned to downtown Portsmouth. The event includes a 10K run/walk, a competitive 10K walk, and a one-mile Crawford Street Mile.
The 10K is held on a fast, flat, certified course that starts and finishes by the pavilion, runs through historic downtown streets, and follows the seawall. The Crawford Mile is an up-and-back course on Crawford Street with start and finish in front of the pavilion.
Entry fees vary by registration period. Example tiers listed include early bird pricing for the 10K at $35 until March 21 and higher rates later, and mile pricing at $15 until March 31. A no-shirt option reduces the fee by $3. Strider Club members receive a $5 discount until online registration closes. Race shirts are guaranteed to the first 750 registrants.
Elite runners who meet specified 10K time standards from races between May 2025 and September 1, 2026, are eligible for complimentary registration. Awards cover top finishers by overall, masters, youth, and five-year age groups, plus prize money for top overall and masters finishers. A team competition uses age-graded results and awards the ERR Cup. Post-race amenities include race shirts, finisher medals, and a pavilion party with local craft beer, food, live music, and vendors. Advance packet pick-up details are to be announced; race day packet pickup is available for out-of-town participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
