Event Overview
The Elevate Autism 5K & 1Mi. is a community running event taking place in Cartersville, Georgia. It is the second annual running of the event. The purpose of the event is to heighten awareness and educate communities about autism. The presenting sponsor is Academy ABA, and the event is organized in support of Boost Abilities, LLC.
Distances and Fees
Participants can register for the following events:
- 5K run/walk (Adult Rate: $25, Youth Rate: $20)
- 1-mile fun run/walk ($20)
- Ghost runner ($30) – a non-participant registration option.
An early bird rate of $25 for the 5K is available until March 1, 2026, after which the price increases. Race day registration is available at higher fees, but shirt size is not guaranteed for day-of registrants.
Event Details
The event is held at Sam Smith Park, located at 152 Milner Rd. SE in Cartersville. The 5K is a USATF-certified course and serves as a qualifying event for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. The 1-mile event is described as a fun run/walk. Both the 5K and 1-mile participants receive a race shirt.
On race day, there will be an awards ceremony. For the 5K, awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top male and female masters, and the top three in numerous age categories. For the 1-mile fun run, medals are awarded to the first three boys and first three girls who finish.
Logistics
Packet pickup is encouraged on the day before the race at the Big Peach Running Co. store in Cartersville. On the course, water is provided at a mid-point station. At the finish area, water, Gatorade, fruit, and snacks are available for runners. Restrooms are available in the area. Free parking is provided at the Ric Mason Soccer Complex parking lot.
The event has a no-refund policy and will be held rain or shine, with cancellation only determined by organizers and local authorities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
