Eldersburg Elementary School PTA Color Run
The Eldersburg Elementary School PTA Color Run is a community event held on the school grounds at 1021 Johnsville Rd, Eldersburg, MD. The activity is an untimed 1 mile course run mainly on grass. Participants pass a series of color stations where powdered color is applied, and many wear white at the start and finish covered in color.
The event is organized in multiple heats that begin at ten minute intervals so each runner passes the color stations with space between groups. The post-race area includes live music, snacks, water and crafts for children. Registration for the race includes a race t-shirt, water, snacks and kids crafts after the event. Children aged three and under may attend free and do not receive a race shirt.
Parking is available in the front and back lots of the elementary school and in the neighborhood across the street; attendees are asked not to park on the grass. The start area is located at the back of the school by the playground. Strollers are permitted, though hills and grass on the course may make pushing difficult.
Proceeds from the event support the Eldersburg Elementary playground fund with the stated goal of having a 100% handicap accessible playground by the start of the next school year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
