CBTE Eight Stations Ultra
The CBTE Eight Stations Ultra is a trail running event over a 50K course with approximately 3322 ft of cumulative ascent. The route starts in Whitby and finishes in Pickering, following the Esk Valley and North Yorkshire Moor railway corridors and passing eight railway stations. Much of the course runs alongside the railway, where competitors may see steam trains.
The route is partially self navigational; a route map, a step by step route description, and a GPX file are provided. The event is fully tracked by Open Tracking. The surface is typical of trail terrain and includes mud, rocks, trees, and other natural obstacles. There is a 13 hour cutoff time, which allows for slower runners and quick walkers to complete the course.
Participants must be at least 20 years old on the event date. Trophies are awarded to the first male, female, and non binary finishers, and to the first male and female in the 50, 60, and 70 age categories. The event is organized as an offline, in person race and offers optional participant protection insurance for purchase. Entry periods and fees are managed through the event registration system.
