The Eibsee-Herbstlauf is an annual running event that has been held for over 40 years, taking place on the last Sunday of October. The race covers a challenging 12.2 km route from Grainau to the Eibsee, which is situated approximately 240 meters higher in elevation. Participants are treated to stunning views of the Zugspitz-Nordwand, enhancing the unique experience of the run.
Originally initiated by Wolfgang Plümpe in 1981, the event is now organized by the Ski department of the Sportclub "Eibsee" Grainau, with continued support from Plümpe.
