EHOHx12 Challenge
The EHOHx12 Challenge is a 12-hour event at McKaig Nature Center in Wayne, PA, with a base in the Roberts School parking lot. Participants run once every hour on the hour for twelve hours. The event functions as a fundraiser for McKaig Nature Center; donors may pledge an amount per mile and donations are accepted online or in cash at the event.
Participants may set their own target distance, including half marathon, marathon, ultra, or any distance they choose. Organizers have mapped several loop options to use during the hourly runs:
- 1 mile loop
- 1.5 mile loop
- 2 mile loop
- 3 mile loop
Runners complete their chosen distance at the top of each hour for the event duration. An optional extra lap at double the chosen distance is offered as an additional total distance challenge. No prizes are awarded. McKaig Nature Center provides access to a restroom and a hand wash station. Participants are expected to bring their own chairs, food, hydration, and other personal gear. Dogs are allowed only if leashed and waste is picked up.
Past results from 2025 show 43 participants combining for 724.17 miles; about 20% of participants stayed for the full twelve hours. The 2025 effort raised over $885 to support trails and educational programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
