Egg Nog Slog 1 Mile All Star Classic
The Egg Nog Slog 1 Mile All Star Classic takes place on December 6, 2026 at South Mountain Reservation in West Orange, NJ. The event is organized by Sassquad Trail Running and is listed under the Dairy Division.
The race format is a sequence of four repeats: participants start by drinking eight ounces of egg nog while stationary, then complete a quarter mile loop. After four cycles participants will have covered one mile and consumed 32 ounces of egg nog. Participants must provide their own nog and an eight ounce cup. All consumption must occur in the prescribed order and all four distance segments must be completed; failure to follow the order or finish the nog results in a DNF. There is no cutoff time noted for completion.
The course is a quarter mile loop that begins with a run across a grass field to the trailhead, followed by a sharp right turn onto the trail, a slight downhill, another sharp right turn, and a return across the grass field to the finish with a slight uphill section.
Two competition divisions are offered: Dairy and Non-Dairy. Non-Dairy is defined as any nog made with an ingredient other than milk derived from a dairy cow. The organizer includes a jocular mention of a gallon of egg nog as a winner prize. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
