Servus Edmonton Marathon
The Servus Edmonton Marathon is an annual running event held in Edmonton, Alberta. Known as "The Friendly Marathon," this non-profit event has been part of the city's history for 35 years. The course is characterized as flat and fast, taking participants through various neighborhoods, the downtown area, and the river valley.
The event features a variety of race distances:
- Marathon: A 42.2 km distance that serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
- Half Marathon: A 21.1 km race through iconic neighborhoods and the river valley.
- 10 km: The Army 10K, which features the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.
- 5 km: A family fun run that permits running, walking, and rolling.
- 1 km: A free fun run specifically for children under the age of 10.
In 2026, the event hosts the Athletics Canada National Half Marathon Championships and the Canadian Masters Half Marathon Championships. An elite athlete program is also available for those competing for course records and personal bests.
The races take place on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. The event scale includes a spectator atmosphere of over 15,000 people.
