Chad’s Day For Change Urban Trail Race
Chad’s Day For Change Urban Trail Race is held at Gold Bar Park in Edmonton and highlights the east end of the river valley trail system. The course uses single track and double wide trails and consists of three loops starting from Gold Bar Park: a 12 km loop to Dawson Park, a 12 km loop that crosses the North Saskatchewan River into the Sunridge Ski Area, and a 10 km loop through Goldstick Park. The route passes by local fishing spots and trails frequently used with a dog and children.
The event offers multiple distance options:
- 34 km solo
- 34 km relay for teams of 2 or 3 runners
- 21 km half marathon
- 12 km single loop solo
- 10 km single loop solo
- 5 km walk run
- 1.2 km kids event
The race raises funds for men's mental health and supports HeadsUpGuys, an online platform that provides anonymous resources and education for men experiencing depression and suicidal thoughts. Each registration includes an optional CA$10 HeadsUpGuys add on and an option to donate more. The kids event requires a minimum CA$5 donation with no other fees.
