Course Overview
The Chad’s Day For Change Urban Trail Race takes place in the eastern section of Edmonton’s river valley trail system. Starting from Gold Bar Park, the event utilizes a combination of single track and double wide trails across several park areas. The race features three primary loops: a 12 km flat section to Dawson Park, a 12 km section crossing the North Saskatchewan River into the Sunridge Ski Area, and a 10 km section through Goldstick Park.
Available Distances
Participants can select from a variety of race formats:
- 34 km solo
- 34 km relay (split between 2 or 3 runners)
- 21 km Half Marathon (combining loops 2 and 3)
- 12 km or 10 km single loop solo
- 5 km walk/run
- 1.2 km kids event
Event Purpose and Amenities
The event is held to honor the memory of Chad Evans and aims to raise awareness for men's mental health. Proceeds support HeadsUpGuys, an online platform providing resources and education to assist men battling depression. Each registration fee includes a dedicated contribution to this organization.
The terrain varies by loop, ranging from the flat paved and dirt trails of the Dawson leg to the undulating forest trails of the Goldstick leg.
