Course

The courses are a mix of road and trail surfaces. The 5k route passes through historic Downtown Edenton, Hayes Farm, and the Historic Edenton Mill Village. The 10k course goes through Hayes Farm and active farm roads, with a portion on gravel. The routes feature views of the waterfront, colonial architecture, and active peanut fields.

The event takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Elizabeth Vann Moore Park (formerly Queen Anne Park) at 210 E Water St in Edenton, North Carolina.

Registration and Logistics

Registration fees are $35 for the 5k, $45 for the 10k, and $55 for the 15k Nutty Challenge. The Kids Sack Race is free. Packet pickup is available on Friday, October 2nd, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 119 W Water St in Edenton, and on race day at the event location starting at 6:00 AM. Professional race timing is provided.

Awards and Festival

Awards are given to the top overall and age group finishers in various categories, including a prize for the "Nuttiest Outfit." The awards ceremony follows the 5k race. The event serves as the kickoff to the local Peanut Festival, which includes a parade, live porch music, and other festivities. All proceeds benefit Main Street Edenton's Facade Grant program.
