Eddie's Revenge Fell Race
Eddie's Revenge is a category A/S fell race organized by Middleton Harriers. The event takes place in Shaw and features a course covering a distance of 5.8 km with 308 m of total ascent. The race follows a multi-terrain route consisting of moorland trails, forest trails, and rough moorland paths.
Participants start at Shore Methodist Church and climb toward the Trig Point situated on Crompton Moor. After reaching this point, the route descends toward the quarries located near Buckstones Road. The terrain is frequently influenced by old mine workings, which provide drainage, though certain sections can remain muddy especially during wet weather.
The course layout includes multiple ascents and descents as it loops through the forest and moorland landscapes. A notable feature of the first lap is a steep descent covered in shale. Participants must be at least 16 years of age on the day of the event to enter. Registration is open to both FRA members and non-members.
