Eddie's Revenge Fell Race
Eddie's Revenge is a category A/S fell race held on a course measuring approximately 5.8 km to 6.1 km with a total ascent of roughly 308 m to 323 m. The event is organized by the Middleton Harriers and is open to participants aged 16 or older on the day of the race. Registration fees are set at a lower rate for FRA members compared to non-members.
The race route begins at Shore Methodist Church and involves a climb to the Trig Point on Crompton Moor. From this point, the course descends toward the quarries located near Buckstones Road. The terrain consists of a variety of surfaces, including moorland trails, forest trails, and rough moorland paths. While old mine workings provide drainage for much of the area, some sections are prone to mud, particularly during periods of wet weather.
The course layout features multiple loops and transitions through forest and moorland landscapes. It includes numerous ascents and descents.
