Eddie's Revenge Fell Race
The Eddie’s Revenge Fell Race is a category A/S event held on Brushes Clough Country Park and Crompton Moor. The race is conducted under Fell Running Association rules and takes place on a route that covers a mixture of moorland trails, forest paths, and rough moorland terrain. The course is approximately 3.8 miles (6.1 km) in length with a total ascent of 1080 ft (323 m).
Participants can expect a route that threads through forests and over moorland, featuring various ascents and descents. The course includes a steep shale-covered descent at the end of the first lap. While the ground is generally well-drained due to old mine workings, some sections may become muddy depending on weather conditions. The event is held on open, exposed moorland, and organizers advise that navigational experience with a map and compass may be necessary as the course is only partially marked.
The event is open to runners aged 16 and over, with those under 18 requiring a signed parental consent form. Registration and chip collection take place at St Saviours Church in Shaw, with the race start located a short distance away at Shore Edge Methodist Church. Parking is provided at Brushes Clough Quarry. Required safety equipment to be carried or worn may include full body cover, a whistle, a map, and a compass. Use of GPS for navigation is not permitted.
