Eddie's Revenge takes place on Wednesday 24 June 2026. It is a category A/S fell race held in the South/West Pennines region. The event venue is St Saviours Church, Buckstones Road, Shaw, OL2 8NB (grid reference SD999232; lat 53.586289, lon -2.078724). The course distance is 5.8 km (3.6 miles) with 308 m (1,010 ft) of climb. Minimum age for entry is 16. The race has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. The event raises funds for Deafblind UK and OMRT. Team scoring is allowed (men teams of 4, women teams of 3). Junior races are not held; juniors aged 16–18 must have a signed parental or guardian entry form.
Course and entry
The route mixes moorland trail, forest trail and rough moorland paths. Old mine workings generally aid drainage, but there can be muddy sections in wet weather. The course features numerous ascents and descents as it loops through forest and moorland, including a climb to the trig point on Crompton Moor and a descent to the quarries near Buckstones Road. A steep, shale-covered descent appears near the end of the first lap. Entry is by pre-entry only; there is no entry on the day. Pre-entry fees are £7 for FRA members and £8 for non-members.
