Edale Skyline Trek
The Edale Skyline Trek is a three day walking event in the Peak District centred on the village of Edale and the Hope Valley. The main route covers 20 miles with approximately 4,000 ft of ascent and visits Brown Knoll, Mam Tor, Back Tor, Lose Hill and Win Hill.
The route is described as non technical with no sharp ridges or huge ascents. Participants should have a good level of fitness and be able to walk over hilly terrain for a full day with only short breaks. The walk is led by qualified walk leaders, and organisers provide navigation, transport, accommodation and on route support.
The event package price is £295 per person and includes YHA accommodation, transport, breakfast, lunch, full support, a medal and a bespoke technical t-shirt. A deposit option is available and there is a minimum fundraising target of £500 per person. Fundraising in 2027 will support the organiser’s Life Change Fund which has previously helped projects such as a mobile youth bus and furnished housing for young people.
Free preparatory training walks are offered, with monthly Sunday morning sessions and weekly Wednesday evening sessions scheduled to start in 2027. A provisional itinerary includes travel from a meeting point to YHA accommodation and an optional local afternoon activity before the walk day.
