Ed Erichson Memorial Races : LaGrangeville, NY
The event offers two road races that start and end at LaGrange Town Hall in Lagrangeville, New York. Courses are USATF certified and come with course maps for each distance.
The available distances are:
- 5 mile run
- 10 mile run
The five mile course is described as fast and flat and follows the Winter Run route in reverse. The ten mile course includes a single notable uphill section and is run as two laps of that route. Long sleeve soft cotton shirts are provided to the first 100 registrants. There is a $5 discount per race for Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club members.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each race, plus ten-year age group awards. A local running shop donated prizes for the top three overall, including a free pair of sneakers for first place and gift cards or merchandise for second and third. Additionally, four $50 gift cards will be awarded to four finishers, two from each race.
The race is named in honor of Ed Erichson; a scholarship fund in his name supports graduating students from the Hyde Park School District each year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
