ECDC 5K Run for Refugees
ECDC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, organizes an annual community running event to support refugees and immigrants. The event takes place at 329 N. Manchester Street, Arlington, VA 22203, and offers separate races for adults and children.
The course uses paved park trails, includes one hill, and has no road crossings. The route is described as accessible for walkers and wheelchairs. Post-race social activities are held in a picnic shelter about 100 meters from the start and finish, next to the restrooms.
Registration fees are tiered by date: $40 early bird through July 31, $50 regular from August 1 through September 13, and $75 late registration from September 14 through September 23. T-shirts are included with the fee.
Directions note that from Route 50 one should turn north to the end of Manchester Street and then proceed to the designated free parking area. If that parking is full, alternative parking is available at Bluemont Park North Shelter or Ashlawn School.
