Event Overview
The Eastwood Baptist 5K is an inaugural running event scheduled for October 17, 2026, in Haughton, Louisiana. Hosted at Haughton High School, the event serves as a fundraiser to support local and international mission work. Participants can choose between two primary running distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 0.5 Miles (Kids Fun Run)
A "Sleep-in supporter" option is also available for individuals who wish to contribute to the mission work without participating in the physical races.
Course Details
The race takes place on the west side of the Haughton High School campus, specifically on North Hazel Street next to the football field. The 3.1 mile course begins in the football parking lot and travels south on North Hazel Street before turning west on East Jefferson Avenue. Runners complete a loop onto East Taylor Street and continue east onto East McKinley Avenue to an out-and-back turnaround point. The route concludes back at the school parking lot. The course is described as flat with net zero elevation gain.
Event Logistics and Participation
Race management and chip timing are provided by Rad Racing. All participants receive a finisher's medal and a t-shirt, though t-shirts are only guaranteed for those who register by October 2nd. Refreshments and an aid station are positioned at the turnaround point and the post-race area.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 3.1 mile race. Early packet pickup is held on October 15 and 16 at Eastwood Baptist Church, with additional pickup opportunities on the morning of the event at the high school.
