About the race
Eastbourne Triathlon is a multi-event triathlon festival on the South Downs coast centered on Eastbourne. The programme includes swim, bike and run formats for a wide range of ages and race preferences, from children’s TriStars and novice super-sprints to sprint, standard (Olympic) and middle-distance options. The sprint and standard distance races are held on fully closed roads and have been awarded Event of the Year in 2017, 2019, 2023 and 2025. Racing takes place along coastal and landmark locations: open-water swims with Eastbourne’s historic pier as a backdrop, bike courses that use Beachy Head Road on fully closed roads, and runs along the seaside promenade.
The event offers individual and relay entries plus single-discipline races such as aquathlons, aquabikes, duathlons and open swims. Distance examples include: - Standard Distance Triathlon: Swim 1500m Bike 40km Run 10km - Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750m Bike 20km Run 5km - Novice Super-Sprint Triathlon: Swim 300m Bike 10km Run 2.5km - TriBourne 100: Swim 2km Bike 80km Run 18km - TriStar and youth aquathlon distances for ages 8 to 14 The event uses an early-bird price ladder with tiered discounts. A Race Pass is required for non-members of the BTF at an additional cost of £8 (£2 for under 25s).
