Event overview
The East Cheshire Junior & Sprint Aquathlon is a swim-and-run event at The King's School, Alderley Road, Prestbury, Cheshire (SK10 4SP) on 13 September 2026. The event uses the school’s indoor 25 m pool and the adjacent playing fields. New for 2025, chip timing is provided and finish-line photos are available. Participants receive a McA Series medal; a small packet of sweets and a bottle of water are also provided after racing. Results are posted online and emailed within five days.
Format and distances
Races are wave-based by age category and start from poolside. The pool has 6 lanes, with a maximum of 4 swimmers per lane (24 swimmers per wave). The run takes place on school playing fields and is traffic-free; runners use the left side and run anti-clockwise around the rugby field.
- TriStart (age 8) - Swim: 50 m, Run: 600 m
- TriStar 1 (ages 9-10) - Swim: 100 m, Run: 1.5 km
- TriStar 2 (ages 11-12) - Swim: 150 m, Run: 2 km
- TriStar 3 (ages 13-14) - Swim: 250 m, Run: 2.88 km
- Sprint (age 15+) - Swim: 400 m, Run: 2.88 km
Logistics and entry
Entry fees range from £15 to £35 depending on category. Arrivals are requested about 30-45 minutes before each wave to register and prepare. Transition is poolside; spectators are not permitted on poolside and are not allowed in transition. Onsite car parking is available via School Lane.
