East Cheshire Junior & Sprint Aquathlon
The event is a junior and sprint aquathlon at The King's School, Alderley Road, Prestbury, Cheshire (SK10 4SP). The swim takes place in the school's indoor 25 metre, six-lane pool and the run is off-road on the school playing fields. The course is traffic free.
Age categories run from 8 years upwards: TriStart (age 8), TriStar 1 (9-10), TriStar 2 (11-12), TriStar 3 (13-14) and Sprint (15 and over). The aquathlon combines a pool swim with a run from a transition area located just outside the poolside.
New for 2025: chip timing and finish-line photography. Participants receive a McA Series medal, a small packet of sweets and a bottle of water after finishing. Showers are available in male and female changing rooms. Car parking is provided onsite via School Lane.
A qualified lifeguard and race staff will be on poolside. Swimmers start from allocated lanes with a maximum of four swimmers per lane and up to 24 swimmers per wave; swimmers are invited into the water at short intervals. Overtaking should be done at the end of a pool length following the event overtaking procedure. Spectators are asked not to come onto poolside; a spectator area is provided near the finish. Participants are asked to use bins provided and not to leave litter on school grounds.
