Event overview
The East Cheshire Junior & Sprint Aquathlon, organised by McA Fitness, takes place at The King's School, Alderley Road, Prestbury, Cheshire (SK10 4SP) on 13 September 2026. The event uses the school’s 25 m, 6-lane indoor pool and adjacent playing fields. It is traffic free and provides a transition area just outside the poolside. Chip timing and finish-line photography are listed as new features for 2025. Results will be posted online and emailed within five days of the event. Participants receive a McA Series medal, a small packet of sweets and a bottle of water after finishing. There are showers and changing rooms on site. Onsite car parking is available via School Lane.
Distances and logistics
Age categories are determined by age on 31 December of the competing year.
- TriStart (age 8): Swim 50 m; Run 600 m
- TriStar 1 (age 9-10): Swim 100 m; Run 1.5 km
- TriStar 2 (age 11-12): Swim 150 m; Run 2 km
- TriStar 3 (age 13-14): Swim 250 m; Run 2.88 km
- Sprint (15+): Swim 400 m; Run 2.88 km
Each swim wave has a maximum of 24 swimmers (maximum four per lane). Swimmers start in allocated lanes and may be invited into the water in sequence; overtaking is permitted only at the end of a length. The run is off-road around the school playing fields, run anti-clockwise around the rugby field perimeter, with runners asked to keep left for overtaking.
