East Cheshire Junior and Sprint Aquathlon : The King's School, Macclesfield
The event is a swim and run aquathlon held at The King's School, Alderley Road, Prestbury, Cheshire. It uses the school's indoor 25 metre, six lane pool and off road running on the school playing fields. The course is entirely traffic free and waves are organised by age category.
New for 2025: chip timing and finish line photography. Entries receive a McA Series medal and participants are given a small packet of sweets and a bottle of water after finishing. Results are posted online and emailed within five days.
Age categories are determined by age on December 31 of the competing year. The event is open to ages 8 and over and includes the following race distances:
- TriStart (age 8): Swim 50 m; Run 600 m
- TriStar 1 (ages 9 to 10): Swim 100 m; Run 1500 m
- TriStar 2 (ages 11 to 12): Swim 150 m; Run 2000 m
- TriStar 3 (ages 13 to 14): Swim 250 m; Run 2880 m
- Sprint (ages 15 and over): Swim 400 m; Run 2880 m
Transition is located just outside poolside; participants should bring swimwear, goggles if desired, a small towel, running shoes and a t shirt to change into. There is ample onsite parking via School Lane. Spectators are not allowed on poolside and are asked to remain in the designated viewing area near the finish.
