Course and logistics
The half marathon is USATF distance-certified and is mostly a loop on low-traffic country roads with long flat stretches and rolling hills, with the greatest climbing around miles 8 to 10. The 2-person relay splits the half into two legs; the first leg is relatively flat and the second leg is hillier with climbs near miles 8.5 and 9. The 5K is an out-and-back on mostly flat country roads, passes the Beaver Lake lookout on Vann Road, and may briefly use adjacent farmland if conditions require.
