Event Overview
Earth Day Buckle Mania is a timed running event held on a private, paved loop. Participants can choose between 12-hour, 24-hour, and 48-hour race formats. The event takes place from April 24 to 26, 2026.
Course Details
The course is a 1.8228-mile certified paved loop within a private park. The route is described as mostly shaded. The same loop is used for all race durations.
Awards and Recognition
Participants can earn commemorative buckles for reaching specific distance milestones during their timed run. Buckles are awarded for completing these distances:
- 50K
- 50 Mile
- 100K
- 100 Mile
- 150 Mile
- 200 Mile It is possible for a participant to earn multiple buckles in a single event.
All runners receive a tri-blend shirt. Top female and top male finishers in each timed race (12-hour, 24-hour, 48-hour) receive an overall award.
Logistics
The event is located at 1943 Indy Road in Abilene, Kansas. Heated showers are available on-site. Free lodging for the registered runner is included in the entry fee. Cabins, heated buildings, and RV hookups are available for crew and family at additional rates; participants must contact the race director. Pacers are permitted, but only after the first 12 hours of the event. "Muling" (a pacer carrying items for the runner) is not allowed. Deferrals for entry must be requested at least 30 days before the event and are valid for one year. Registration closes on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
