11th Annual Earth Day 5K Bee Run/Walk/River Cleanup
The Earth Day 5K Bee Run/Walk/River Cleanup is held at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis. Situated within a National Park, the location provides participants with historic and scenic views of the Mississippi River. The event is organized by the Great River Coalition with the objective of protecting pollinators and their natural habitats.
Participants can choose from the following activities:
- 5K run or walk for individual participants.
- Kids Run specifically for younger participants.
- River Cleanup focused on maintaining the Mississippi River pollinator habitat.
The event is a family-friendly gathering where dogs are welcome. The venue features music and various booths for attendees to visit. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and can enter the event as named teams. Recognition and prizes are awarded for the best costumes.
Registered participants in the 5K event receive a commemorative t-shirt. The event also includes prize drawings for items such as a smart television and professional football game tickets. The river cleanup portion is a volunteer-led activity that takes place separately from the main running events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
