2026 Earth Day 5K Virtual Event
The 2026 Earth Day 5K is a virtual running and walking event held to celebrate the planet. This year marks the tenth annual edition of the race. As a virtual event, participants have the flexibility to choose their own course and complete the distance at their own pace.
Participants can complete the 5 km distance in a variety of settings, including roads, trails, treadmills, gyms, or tracks. The race can be completed individually or with friends at any location. After finishing the distance, participants are responsible for timing themselves and reporting their finishing time to the organizers.
Registration includes the following items:
- A 5 km virtual run or walk
- A commemorative bib
- An acrylic finisher medal designed to resemble stained glass when held up to the light
Medals and bibs are shipped to participants within two to five days of registration. The event also serves a charitable purpose, with at least 15% of every entry fee being donated to charity. While the registration period spans from April to May, participants may complete their race at any time during the 2026 calendar year.
