General Information

The RunGiving 5k and Fun Run is a local event held on Thanksgiving morning in Augusta, Georgia. The event works to provide items for the Broad Street Ministry Center's food pantry and clothing room. Participants are asked to bring a canned good or other non-perishable food donation. For each food item donated, runners receive a raffle ticket for entry to win a prize. The event is organized by Run the Tangents Timing.

Event Details

There are two events:

  • A 5k race
  • A Fun Run

The 5k starts and finishes at the Mill Village Trailhead (109 Eve St., Augusta, GA). The route continues onto the Augusta Canal towpath and is primarily concrete with some gravel and dirt sections. The Fun Run also starts at the Mill Village Trailhead, goes out to a cone on the path, and returns to the start line.

Registration & Fees

Online registration remains open until the morning of the event. Race shirts are guaranteed to all who register by a specified date in late October. Extra shirts are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration pricing varies:

  • 5k without a shirt: $20 through race day.
  • 5k with a shirt: $20 through early February, then increasing in price leading up to the event.
  • Virtual runner registration: $25.

Race packets include a Thanksgiving-themed unisex t-shirt and items or discounts from local sponsors.

Additional Information

Packet pickup is available on race morning and during an early pickup window the day before at Fleet Feet Augusta. Parking is available at The Salvation Army Kroc Center on Broad Street.
