Dysart Firecracker 5K Run/Walk : July 4, 2026
The Dysart Firecracker 5K is the 40th annual community run and walk held in Dysart, Iowa, with the start and finish at Dysart City Park Open Shelter House, 602 Sherman St, Dysart, IA 52224. The course is flat, partially shaded, and routed through town. A water station is available about halfway along the route. Timing for participants will stop at one hour. The route may change if street repairs are necessary.
Registration details specify a reduced fee for early registration and a higher fee for later registration. Pre registration by June 22, 2026 costs $25 and includes a t shirt, refreshments, and entry in a prize drawing. Registration after June 22 through race day costs $30 and race day registrants are not guaranteed a t shirt. All proceeds support Club Dysart’s Fourth of July celebration.
Packets are available at the Open Shelter on race day with a separate table for those who pre registered. Awards are organized by age divisions covering 10 and under through 70 plus, with separate male and female divisions. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each division and trophies are given to the overall top male and overall top female. A refreshment party and awards ceremony are held after the event.
