Dysart Firecracker 5K Run/Walk
The Dysart Firecracker 5K Run/Walk is the 40th annual community race held on July 4, 2026 at Dysart City Park, Open Shelter House, 602 Sherman St, Dysart, IA 52224. The course is flat, partially shaded, and routed through town, with the start and finish at the park.
All participants must be registered. Pre-registration by June 22, 2026 costs $25 and includes a t-shirt, refreshments, and entry in a prize drawing. Registration after June 22 through race day costs $30 and race day registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt. All proceeds support Club Dysart’s Fourth of July celebration.
Packet pickup is available race day at the Open Shelter beginning at 6:45 AM with all packets to be collected by 7:45 AM. A separate table is provided for pre-registered participants. A water station is located roughly halfway through the course. Timing will stop at one hour. A refreshment party and awards ceremony for participants will follow the race. The route may be adjusted if street repairs are required.
Age divisions for awards are 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each division and trophies are presented to the top overall male and top overall female.
