Duxford Dash : IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire
Duxford Dash is a set of running events held at IWM Duxford airfield in Duxford, Cambridgeshire (CB22 4QR). The course uses the airfield runway, which is closed to air traffic for the races. Entries for the 2026 event are sold out and a waiting list is available.
The event program includes multiple race distances:
- 1 mile Family Dash
- 5 km Duxford Dash, one lap of the runway
- 10 km Duxford Dash, two laps of the runway
Finishers receive event merchandise including a finisher medal and are invited to take a photo in front of a Spitfire. The 2026 merchandise reflects IWM Duxford's runway history and includes a silver Spitfire finisher medal with a yellow and black lanyard, a black T-shirt, and a sew-on patch for the 1 mile finishers.
The event notes accessibility and participant categories: wheelchair athletes are welcome and the route has a slight incline, and buggy runners may take part in the 5 km or 10 km races. Spectator tickets are sold separately. As a charity event, entry and merchandise purchases contribute to IWM's work to record and share historical stories.
