2026 MHRRC Dutchess County Classic
The Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club presents the 48th annual Dutchess County Classic, a multi-day running event held in the Hudson Valley. The event is split across two locations, featuring flat and scenic routes that utilize local parks and rail trails. All courses are USATF certified and professionally timed.
On the first day, activities take place at Robinson Lane Park in Wappingers Falls. The second day transitions to Poughkeepsie, starting from Dutchess Community College. These Sunday races utilize the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail and the Hudson Valley Rail Trail, including an out and back section over the Walkway Over the Hudson, providing views of the Hudson River.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile course with a wheelchair division available.
- 10k: A 6.2 mile race following the rail trail and bridge.
- 5k: A 3.1 mile flat, out and back T-shape course.
- Kids 1k Fun Run: A 1 mile run for children ages 12 and under.
Registered participants receive finisher medals across all distances. Technical shirts are provided to those who register before the late August deadline. Cash prizes are awarded to the top overall and masters finishers in the 5k and Half Marathon events. Runners must maintain a pace of at least 15 minutes per mile for the adult races. Strollers are only permitted in the Kids 1k Fun Run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
