Dutchess County Classic
The Dutchess County Classic is a two day road race weekend held in Dutchess County, New York on September 19 and 20, 2026. Saturday events take place at Robinson Lane Park in Wappingers Falls and Sunday events use Dutchess Community College and the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail and Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie.
Event distances include:
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon
- 10 kilometer race
- 5 kilometer race
- 1 mile Kids 1k Fun Run
- Wheelchair option for the half marathon
Courses are described as flat and scenic and are USATF certified. The 5k is an out and back T shape starting and finishing at the pavilion. The 10k and half marathon use the Morgan Lake Trailhead to access the rail trail and include an out and back over the Walkway Over the Hudson. The half marathon continues beyond the Morgan Lake turn to an out and back near Manchester Road and finishes along Creek Road to Dutchess Community College.
Registration opens April 12, 2026. There are price increases after the first 350 registrants and again on July 1 and September 14. Shirts are provided to runners who register on or before August 23 and finisher medals are awarded for the Kids 1k, 5k, 10k and half marathon. Combo entries reflect a five dollar discount.
Runners must maintain a pace of 15 minutes per mile or better in all events except the Kids 1k. No walkers are allowed in the half marathon. Strollers are not permitted in the 5k, 10k or half marathon; strollers are allowed in the Kids 1k. Prizes include awards for top three overall and age group top three in ten year age groups, and cash payouts for top finishers and masters in the 5k and half marathon.
