About the race
The Durham Academy Turkey Trot is a community running event scheduled for November 14, 2026, at the Durham Academy Upper School campus, 3601 Ridge Road, Durham, NC 27705. The event program includes a timed 5K, a Middle School Mile, and a Fun Run for younger children. Food trucks, bounce houses, a photo booth, and field activities are part of the event day.

The 5K is USA Track & Field certified and uses chip timing for immediate results. The 5K has a registration fee of $35. Middle School Mile and Fun Run entry are listed with no fee in the event details. Same-day registration is available and registration opens October 2, 2026. Registrants before October 28, 2026 will receive a T-shirt included with the 5K fee; Middle School and Fun Run participants may purchase a T-shirt if they register before that date. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in divisions. Volunteer shifts are available before and after the 5K to support event operations.
