The event
The 16th Annual Durham Academy Turkey Trot takes place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Durham Academy, 3601 Ridge Rd, Durham, NC 27705. The in-person program includes the following distances:
- 5K Run
- Turkey Trot Fun Run (grades PK to 4)
The 5K is USA Track & Field-certified and uses chip timing. The Fun Run is run on the Upper School track with grade-level heats for preschool through fourth grade. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in divisions. Participants are asked to leave four-legged friends at home.
Location, registration and extras
Registration for all events closes on November 12, 2025; there is no same-day registration. The 5K entry fee is $35. The Fun Run is free. Registrants before October 29 receive a Turkey Trot t-shirt included with the 5K fee; Fun Run participants may purchase a shirt if registered before October 29. The event site will have food trucks, inflatable activities, a photo booth, and field games. Volunteer shifts are available before and after the 5K.
