About the race
The Bundoran Dune Run is an annual running challenge in Bundoran, County Donegal, scheduled for Saturday 12th September 2026. The event offers three race categories that take place on beach and dune terrain and is organised as a fundraiser for the local GAA club Realt Na Mara Bundoran. Entry is for participants aged 15 and over.
Race categories:
- 5K Beach Walk : scenic social 5K on sand, finishers medal and event-day support
- 5K Beach Run : seaside 5K on sand, softer footing than road
- 10K Dune Run Challenge : 10K with dune sections, uneven ground; trail or running shoes recommended
Registration is open with an option to receive a posted race pack including race number, chip and t-shirt sent two weeks before the event. The event uses chip timing. Entry fees listed are €30 for the 10K and €25 for the 5K events plus admin fees, with earlier reduced rates previously available. Check-in is at Tullan Strand beach car park. There is no bag-drop or lock-up facility; toilets are available at the car park and limited parking will be provided nearby. Refreshments will be available from a local vendor on site.
