Dunblane Road Races
The Dunblane Road Races take place on 31 May 2026 in Dunblane. The event includes a measured 12 km road race and an approximately 2 km youth race that follows mixed surfaces around local parkland.
Distances
- 12 km measured road race, mostly country roads, start and finish on Dunblane High Street.
- 2 km youth race, mixed surfaces, route around Allan Water and Memorial Park.
The 12 km course leaves the High Street and heads north along Perth Road through the village of Kinbuck, crosses the River Allan at Cromlix Bridge, follows Auchenlay Road and returns via Doune Road, Springfield Terrace and Sunnyside, finishing near the Gold Post Box. The route is generally flat with some undulation and a short hill near 4 miles, and it is not run on closed roads so some traffic may be encountered. The course is heavily marshalled, and a water station is placed close to the halfway point. First aid cover is available. Headphones are not permitted except bone conduction types.
The youth route starts on the High Street, goes around Allan Water, over the Faery Bridge into Memorial Park and finishes near the Gold Post Box. Minimum age on race day is 9, maximum age is 15. Age categories are U15, U13 and U11.
Race numbers are issued from the registration desk at the Dunblane Centre on race day. There is ample parking nearby and toilet and shower facilities at the Dunblane Centre. Baggage may be left at the centre at the entrant's own risk. Timing uses UHF disposable chip tags integrated into race numbers and results are published after the event. Cash prizes are awarded in each category. The race welcomes disabled runners and para athletes but notes the route includes rough and steep sections and recommends discussing specific needs with organisers and recceing the course in advance.
