Dunakanyar Half Marathon
The Dunakanyar Half Marathon is an autumn road race on an asphalt bike path that follows the Danube near Nagymaros. The event offers three distances:
- 21 km
- 12.5 km
- 5 km
Start and finish are at Nagymaros main square. The 21 km and 12.5 km courses use a turnaround in Zebegény at 6.2 km; the 5 km turnaround is at 2.5 km. The route is described as fast and runs along river panoramas.
Refreshment points are located at 2 km, 6.3 km, 10.5 km, 15 km, 19 km and at the finish. Time limits are: 21 km = 2:40, 12.5 km = 1:45, 5 km = 0:45. The field is limited to 800 participants to preserve the event atmosphere.
Organizer: Proathlon Bt. Partners: Nagymaros, Zebegény. Online registration opens 2026.09.04 and runs until 2026.11.02 while entries last. Entry fees for the event period are listed per distance. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women in each distance and are handed out at the award ceremony only; there is no later collection or mailing.
The event follows green principles: no plastic cups or PET bottles are used, waste is collected selectively, and paper cups are provided at refreshment stations. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cup or bottle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
