Dunakanyar Half Marathon : Nagymaros, Hungary
The Dunakanyar Half Marathon is an autumn road race held in Nagymaros along the Danube with an emphasis on river views and a fast course. The event offers three distances:
- 21 km
- 12.5 km
- 5 km
The route runs mainly on asphalt bicycle paths beside the river. Turnaround points are at Zebegény 6.2 km for the longer route and Nagymaros 2.5 km for the 5 km. Time limits are set for each distance: 21 km 2:40, 12.5 km 1:45 and 5 km 0:45. Refreshment points are located at 2 km, 6.3 km, 10.5 km, 15 km, 19 km and in the finish area.
The organizer is Proathlon Bt., with Nagymaros and Zebegény listed as partners. Participant numbers are limited to 800 to preserve the course experience. Online entry opens 2026.09.04. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall men and women in each distance and are handed out only at the awards ceremony; there is no later pickup or postal delivery.
The event follows a green approach: no plastic cups or PET bottles are used, paper cups are provided at refreshment tables and participants are encouraged to bring their own cup or bottle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
