Dumfries Running Club One Hour Track Race
Dumfries Running Club stages a one hour track race on 30 May 2026 at The David Keswick Athletics Centre, Marchmount, Dumfries, DG1 1PX. The event is split into two separate races to accommodate different goals and categories: a Novice race for runners not targeting age-related UK best performances and a Masters race for athletes aiming for UK best performance recognition.
The minimum age for entrants on the day is 17. For Masters entries seeking an official best performance, athletes must appoint a second recorder to log lap times; results require the race lap counter sheet and the athlete appointed recorder sheet for verification. A race lap counter will record all laps and additional distance.
Both races start by whistle and a one minute warning will be given by bell. Runners must stop promptly at the end of the hour and wait for the measuring wheel or a race assistant to mark the finishing position. Photography or video may be used as a backup finish record. If an athlete needs to leave and then re-enter the track, a designated position will be marked.
A digital clock will display time at the start position. The venue offers parking, changing rooms, toilets and showers, and first aid cover will be provided. The event is pending a licence via Scottish Athletics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
