Duke City Marathon : Race Info

The Duke City Marathon is a multi-distance running event based in downtown Albuquerque with the start at Mayor Kinney Civic Plaza. The course passes through central city streets, Historic Route 66, the Paseo del Bosque Trail beside the Rio Grande, the Village of Los Ranchos, and Old Town. All city streets on the course are closed to vehicular traffic on race day.

The event program includes these races:

  • Marathon (RRCA West Regional Championship)
  • Marathon Relay
  • Half Marathon (2025 RRCA New Mexico State Championship)
  • 10K Run
  • 10K Walk
  • 5K Run
  • 5K Walk

Age groups are 0-14; 15-19; then five-year increments from 20-24 up to 90+. Categories include Male, Female, Wheel Chair, and several Relay divisions such as Men's, Women's, Co-ed, Military, Law Enforcement, and Pueblo.

Each registration includes a Dri-Release long sleeve shirt, a 2025 commemorative race coin, a race bib, timing, a race packet, post race refreshments, and a finishers medal for Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K Run, and 10K Walk. There are no refunds and registrations cannot be transferred to another person; a $20 event transfer fee applies.

Packet pickup is available at Big 5 Sporting Goods at 2720 San Mateo Blvd for those registered by September 19. Packets are also available at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Hall 3 on October 18, 2025, which is free and open to the public from 9am to 6pm.

The official start line is at 3rd Street and Tijeras and the finish line is on 3rd Street between Tijeras and Marquette. The full marathon and relay follow the Paseo del Bosque Trail with a turn toward the Sandia Mountains around mile 10 and a retrace back to the finish.
