Druridge Bay Duathlons
The Druridge Bay Duathlons take place at Druridge Bay Country Park on the Northumbrian coastline on Sunday 21 March 2027. The event has previously served as a British Triathlon Age Group Qualifying event for the World Standard Distance Duathlon Championships in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Registration opens October 2026. The minimum age is 15 years old on 31 December for the sprint distance and 17 years old on 31 December for the standard distance.
Distances offered:
- Sprint distance Duathlon: Run 5.3 km / Bike 19 km / Run 2.5 km
- Standard distance Duathlon: Run 10.5 km / Bike 38 km / Run 5 km
The run course follows footpaths through woods and meadows around the park lake. The bike course leaves the Country Park and continues along a flat coastal route. The event uses transition areas and mapped bike and run routes specific to each distance.
Druridge Bay Country Park sits beside a sweep of sandy beach and is used for cycling, running, open water swimming, walking, paddling, sailing and surfing. Park facilities include a café, visitor centre, outdoor play area, sheltered picnic spots and camping, caravanning and motorhome facilities, allowing attendees to plan a short stay around the event.
