Druridge Bay Duathlon
The Druridge Bay Duathlon takes place at Druridge Bay Country Park, Red Row NE61 5BX on Sunday 21 March 2027. The event offers two measured duathlon distances and specifies minimum ages for entry.
Distances
- Sprint Distance Duathlon: Run 5.3km / Bike 19km / Run 2.5km
- Standard Distance Duathlon: Run 10.5km / Bike 38km / Run 5km
The minimum age for the sprint distance is 15 years old on 31 December. The minimum age for the standard distance is 17 years old on 31 December.
Course details note that the run route follows a footpath through woods and meadows around the park lake. The bike route follows a flat coastal road that leaves the Country Park and runs along the coast. Transition information and route maps are provided for competitors.
Druridge Bay Country Park sits beside a long stretch of coastline and the sands of Druridge Bay beach. The park includes a café, visitor centre, an outdoor play area, sheltered picnic spots, and facilities for camping, caravanning, and motorhomes. The event location has previously been used as a British Triathlon Age Group Qualifying event for the World Standard Distance Duathlon Championships in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
