Druridge Bay Duathlon
The Druridge Bay Duathlon takes place at Druridge Bay Country Park, Red Row NE61 5BX, on Sunday 21 March 2027. The event offers two race formats that combine running and cycling on dedicated park paths and nearby coastal roads.
Race options:
- Sprint distance: Run 5.3 km, Bike 19 km, Run 2.5 km.
- Standard distance: Run 10.5 km, Bike 38 km, Run 5 km.
The run course follows footpaths through woods and meadows around the park lake. The bike route uses the flat coastal roads outside the Country Park. The park includes a café, visitor centre, outdoor play area, sheltered picnic spots, and facilities for camping, caravanning, and motorhomes, allowing visitors to plan a longer stay around the event.
The minimum age for the sprint distance is 15 years old on 31 December. The minimum age for the standard distance is 17 years old on 31 December 2027. The event has previously served as a British Triathlon Age Group Qualifying event for the World Standard Distance Duathlon Championships in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
