Drug Free Run
The Drug Free Run is an annual community event organized by the Union County Safe Communities Coalition. The event on September 19, 2026 takes place in La Grande and has been hosted by the coalition since 2012. Its primary goal is to support local partners and activities that work to prevent youth substance use and promote a safer, healthier community.
The event includes two course options:
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Scavenger Hunt
- 5K Timed Run
The event is described as family-friendly and open to people of all ages and experience levels. Funds raised are designated for youth drug prevention efforts in Union County, including support for the UCSCC Youth Council prevention activities in local schools and communities, events that aim to change community awareness about youth substance use, and community projects selected by the coalition to address youth substance use.
Race routes are provided for both the one mile scavenger hunt and the 5K timed run. Local businesses and organizations are listed among the 2025 sponsors who supported the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
