Event Overview
The Drug Demand Reduction 5K is a community event held on Saturday, October 10, 2026. It is hosted by the Greater Cleveland Young Marines and is the fourth annual edition.
Distances
Participants can choose between two events:
- A 5K run/walk, which is a B-Tag chip-timed road race.
- A 1 Mile walk.
Location
The event is based at the Greater Cleveland Young Marines Drill Center, located at 5575 W. 220th Street in Fairview Park, Cleveland, Ohio.
Additional Activities
Following the race, there is a free Trunk or Treat community celebration from late morning until early afternoon. This is a family-friendly event where local businesses and organizations decorate car trunks and hand out candy.
Registration and Fees
Registration for adults is $25. Youth aged 14 and under can register for $20. There is a $5 surcharge for registrations on the morning of the race. Families of four or more receive a discount when registering all members together in advance.
Participant Benefits
Registration includes a B-Tag chip timing for the 5K, a race bib, a custom finisher medal, a cotton t-shirt (subject to availability for registrations after September 15), and post-race refreshments. The event supports the Greater Cleveland Young Marines' community initiative.
Awards
Awards are given for the 5K. The top three overall male and female finishers are recognized, as are the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
