Drug Demand Reduction 5K event details
The Drug Demand Reduction 5K is the fourth annual community race hosted by Greater Cleveland Young Marines. It takes place on October 10, 2026 at the Greater Cleveland Young Marines Drill Center, 5575 W. 220th St, Fairview Park, OH 44126. The event combines a timed road race with a family-oriented community gathering after the run.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run (B-tag chip timed)
- 1 Mile Walk (novelty race bib)
Registration opens February 23, 2026 and closes October 9, 2026. Fees are listed as $25 for adults and $20 for youth 14 and under, with a $5 surcharge for race morning registration. Families of four or more receive a $10 discount when registering all members at once; that discount must be applied before race morning. If paying by cash or check, a paper entry form and payment may be mailed to Hermes Sports and must be received by October 7.
Participants receive a custom finisher medal, a cotton t-shirt subject to availability for registrations after September 15, post-race refreshments, and award recognition. Award categories include top three overall male and female finishers and top three male and female finishers in the age groups 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
A free Trunk or Treat community event follows the race, with local businesses, families, and organizations handing out candy from decorated car trunks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
